This is a fair isle hat pattern that uses one contrast color. It is rather simple, with four stitch repeats for no more than nine rows of the contrast color.
I used a worsted weight wool for warmth and stitch definition, but any worsted weight yarn will work.

The pattern will make hats from about 18” in diameter to 21.5 “ in diameter.
