The Fantasia Cowlette is a fingering weight bandana cowl knit in the round, featuring easy assigned pooling fans on a stockinette stitch background.

Knitting begins at the hem with a lacy scalloped edging. Simple shaping at the center front creates the look of a triangle shawlette, and ends with a round cowl neckline.

The pattern calls for a single 400g skein of fingering weight yarn. Choose a yarn that is dyed for assigned pooling, with an accent color run of about 8-10”/20-25 cm long. Gauge is not critical, but may affect the size of your cowl, and the amount of yarn needed. Aim for a fabric you like.

I used nearly all of my yarn to knit the sample. The pattern is easily adjusted for size, but you’ll need an extra skein of yarn to make it bigger.

Blocking is magic; you’ll want to wet block this piece to make it Fan-tastic!

Thanks to tech editor Meaghan Schmaltz, test knitters Ann Berg, Linda Glau, Angela Gronewald, Lisa Mazzitelli, and model Sharon Hsu.

Thank you to Tammy Pelfrey, A Chick That Knitz, for the beautiful yarn for this design!
