This hat is a great 1 skein project for the beautiful farm yarn that came home with you. The texture will show best in smooth to slightly nubby or fuzzy yarn in DK or light worsted yarn. With a ten stitch repeat it should be possible to find a size that works.

The fit is intended to be slightly slouchy, with about 2” negative ease and a slightly gathered crown. It is worked top down so you can check the gauge after working an inch or so.

The skills needed include a loop cast on and right leaning lifted increases. Video links are provided. The texture, created with increases and decreases, is fun and easy to memorize and “read”. A chart and written instructions for the stitch are provided.
