Fall is one of my favorite times of year, with its glorious foliage colors, crisp temperatures, and fabulous fall festivals. I look forward to wearing all the transitional knitwear that is just too warm for Summer, and not quite warm enough for Winter. So when SNOW (a four letter word) and ice creep up on us, it makes me want to say “FALL COME BACK NOW”.
This shawl is one of those transitional pieces that you can throw on over the top of a sweater on a crisp day, or over the top of a t-shirt when the day is sunny and warm. Unlike other shawls with applied edgings, the stripes and lace are worked together as you go, so there are no stitches to pick-up later, and less risk of running out of the main color to finish the final lace edge.

FINISHED SIZE:
Length along top edge: 70” (178 cm)
Depth at deepest point, perpendicular to top edge: 25” (63.5 cm)

YARN:
Fingering-weight yarn (approximately 460 yards per 100 grams):
Main Color MC ~ 430 yards
Contrast color CC ~ 320 yards.

SKILLS USED: Provisional cast-on, I-cord cast-on, I-cord edging, simple lace, simple intarsia and striping, brioche st, I-cord bind-off.
