Fairy Lights Shawl
Fairy Lights is a boomerang shawl featuring garter and purl rows interspersed with strings of drop stitch ‘Fairy Lights’. This shawl was inspired by the transition from daisy chains in the summer to strings of fairy lights in the garden in the Autumn. Two versions are included in your purchase: The original (orange/blue), plus the more experimental beaded version (pink/green) described below:
Feeling a little more experimental? More visual interest can be added by inserting a bead into the centre of the ‘lights’. The beads are attached (and secure!) but remain surprisingly mobile adding a little more movement and play – a fidget toy almost! The beaded pattern is included as a bonus for those who like their knitting to be more left-field due to the resulting unconventional effect of the beads, but the original is stunning as is.
Originally designed to be knit with two different long run colourful yarns, this shawl suits a single yarn also, and can be knit in any weight of yarn for very different looks.
