Fairy Castle Illusion Baby Blanket
or buy at Payhip or LoveCrafts.
Now you see it, now you don’t.
Do you have a little princess who would like her own disappearing castle? When you look at illusion knitting from directly in front you only see narrow stripes. Stand back and the castle will appear as if by magic.
The blanket shown was made in Stylecraft Special DK in Parma Violet and Magenta. I used less than 600 metres of each. You can use any yarn although a different yarn might change the overall dimensions of the blanket.
If your princess is more than a baby you can increase the size by adding more border round all edges.
Illusion knitting is very easy to do. If you can knit stripes you can do it. This design is particularly easy because it is completely symmetrical and consists of many straight lines so there is less counting to do. If you make any mistakes they should be immediately obvious.
The pattern includes three different versions of the chart - one on a single page, another split into four sections and the third for use on hand-held devices.
See my other fairy illusion pattern.
Can’t decide which fairy illusion to buy? Get them both, as a set, for £8.
You don’t have to buy them both at once. The discount will be applied when you buy the second pattern.
Note: The fairy is viewed from the side and the castle is viewed from the bottom. They are not intended to be used together.
