A summer birthday party in New Zealand equals sunshine, balloons, pretty dresses, gorgeous shrugs, and plates of Fairy Bread!
The Fairy Bread pattern is the perfect summer dress cover up.
Fairy Bread, with sprinkles or without……the choice is yours.

Fairy Bread is a PEKAPEKA MULTI pattern; a pattern written for multiple sizes (12 of them, from 6 months up to 10 years), and also multiple yarn weights (4ply/fingering, and 5ply/sport).

Construction
Fairy Bread is seamlessly knit utilising the top down raglan shaping method. You begin by casting on the stitches at the neckline, and working the sleeves and back in one piece (with optional sprinkled colourwork), until you reach the required number of stitches across the back for your given size. From here you place the sleeves onto waste yarn, and complete the ribbed edging around the body.
Once the body ribbing is completed, the sleeve stitches are returned to the needles and worked in the round.

Skills Required
backwards loop cast on (for under the arms)
knitting basic colourwork (optional)
knitting small circumferences in the round
picking up stitches
