Fairisle Sheep Bobble Hat
This classic bobble hat in Rowan Felted Tweed DK is knitted
seamlessly in stocking stitch with a folded ribbed brim and
two rows of cute Fairisle sheep motifs, each in a different
contrasting colourway.
FINISHED SIZE
Completed hat is 53.5cm (21in) in circumference and approx
24cm (9½in) deep (with rib folded in half).
YARN
Felted Tweed DK
2 x 50g balls Seafarer 170 (A)
1 x 50g ball each Granite 191 (B), Ginger 154 (C), Cinnamon 175 (D).
NEEDLES
Set of 4 double-pointed 3.25mm (US 3) needles.
Set of 4 double-pointed 3.75mm (US 5) needles.
TENSION
27 sts and 26 rows to 10cm (4in) square measured over patterned
st st, 24 sts and 32 rows to 10cm (4in) square measured over plain
st st, both using 3.75mm (US 5) needles or size to obtain correct
tension.
EXTRAS
Stitch marker.
NOTE
When working from the Chart, use the Fairisle method, stranding the yarn not in use across the wrong side of work, weaving it under and over the working yarn every 3 to 7 sts maximum. Always spread the stitches to their correct width to keep them elastic. When working from Chart, every round is read from right to left.
HAT
Using 3.25mm (US 3) double-pointed needles and yarn A cast on
128 sts. Place a marker on needle to denote beg and end of rounds – slip this marker on every round.
