A great way to try your hand at Fair Isle colourwork is with a small project, like this gorgeous gradient scarf. Knitted in Paintbox Yarns Wool Worsted, this sweet scarf has Fair Isle sections at both ends with eyelet holes for a sweet fringe! You can customise the colours, there are 48 to choose from - this is a great project for an adventurous beginner.

. 3 × M – Dolphin Blue 
. 1 × A – Lipstick Pink 
. 1 × B – Peach Orange 
. 1 × C – Buttercup Yellow 
. 1 × D – Grass Green 
. 1 × E – Marine Blue 
● Pair of 4mm (UK 8 – US 6) knitting needles 
● Pair of 4.5mm (UK 7 – US 7) knitting needles 
● Pair of 5mm (UK 6 – US 8) knitting needles
TENSION (GAUGE) 
21 stitches and 27 rows to 10 cm, 4 in, measured over stocking 
(stockinette) stitch using 4.5mm (UK 7 – US 7) needles, or size required to give correct tension (gauge).
