Fair Isle Christmas Stocking
This Christmas stocking provides a great basis
for classes. Techniques include: provisional cast-
on, i-cord bind off, short row heel, changing
colors (purl ridges), and stranded knitting.
Change colors to make a coordinating “family” of
stockings, customize with optional duplicate stitch
name in space provided at top.
Skill Level: Experienced.
Finished Size: Approximately 18” tall.
Gauge: 24 sts /28 rows = 4”/10 cm.
Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (11 wpi). Yardage:
red (MC) – 110, green (C1) - 35, yellow (C2) -
35, cream (C3) – 35, and blue (C4) – 50. Sample
used Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted: M81
Red Baron, M165 Christmas Green, M13 Sun
Yellow, M10 Crème, and M82 Blue Flannel.
