This is not your granny’s afghan!

When I began designing this piece, I had every intention of giving it as a gift. Along the way I became rather attached to this blanket, perhaps because even though the pattern is not terribly difficult it is rather time consuming.

Each individual block is knit in the round from the outer edge toward the center. When joined, the raised “X” across each block creates the illusion of cabling.

This is one of the few projects where using yarn from multiple dye lots makes the finish product look even better.
