I just adore octopi! Not quite sure what it is that makes them so sweet, but now you can make your own pocket sized cutie to carry around. Hurrah!
Use it as a keyring, a friendly mascot or adorable desk buddy - it makes the perfect gift for the cephalopod enthusiast in your life! You can even add a toy squeaker for extra fun :)
The ButterflyLove pdf Eyeball Octopus knitting pattern gives you clear step by step instructions to make your own little cephalopod. This pattern only involves knitting flat and is suitable for a beginner/intermediate knitter. You can also contact me at any point if you need technical advice or have any other queries.
What you will need:
2 knitting needles (US2/2.75mm or as per tension advice)
Stitch holder or third needle of the same size
15g yarn of any colour (e.g. Sirdar Snuggly DK 460 ‘Eeyore’)
5g white yarn (e.g. Sirdar Snuggly DK 251 ‘White’)
Polyfil acrylic toy stuffing
2 plastic toy safety eyes (6mm)
1 keyring (optional)
1 tapestry needle for finishing
Skills used: Casting on and off, Increasing and Decreasing, I-cords
Stitches used: Stocking stitch, I-cords
