EXTRA WARM Wrist warmers / EKSTRAVARMT Pulsvarmere
Keep your wrists warm with these beautiful beaded wrist warmers!
It is well known that if you take care to keep your wrists warm, you will not freeze as easily on the rest of your body.
Keep your blood (artery) warm, as grandma used to say!
In addition, this is of great help to those of us struggling with bad joints.
When it becomes a piece of jewelry like this, it should be an easy choice to knit a pair for yourself or your friends.
This is a traditional garment, used from earlier, in some parts of Norway. The folk costumes - BUNADs - vary in design and pattern from place to place, so you can actually identify the origin of the bunad visually, and in many places it was common to use wrist warmers with the costume. The wrist warmers pattern and design would also reflect the owner’s place of residence.
This pattern, however, is designed by Pinnsvin Design, inspired by some of the geometric patterns often used for the special embroidery on shirts and aprons - HARDANGERSØM - from the western part of Norway.
We usually knit all our wrist warmers in alpaca, cashmere or similar fibers, so that we can use them in most seasons.
SIZE:
Onesize - can be adjusted
Circumference: about 19cm
Length: 11cm
The pattern includes instructions of how to thread the knitting yarn with beads before starting to knit.
We use smaller needles than the yarn normally requires, as we want the wrist warmers to be extra elastic and allow space for more pattern.
