extempore : without planning or preparation; impromptu.

I was lucky enough to be asked to teach at Knit August Nights, a knitters retreat held in Napier, New Zealand every August. Knowing that there would be a lot of chatting to people, I wanted to take something to knit, that I didn’t have to think about. extempore was born!

It was perfect to be able to sit and knit and create a gorgeous shawl. It positively flew off the needles! My favourite feature is the generous wingspan! Perfect for wrapping around yourself on a cold, wintry day.

extempore is a shallow crescent shawl with a large wingspan.
The pattern is written for fingering weight yarn, and 2 sizes. extempore is easily adjustable to make the most of your yarn. Tips are given to help with this.

You will need to know how to work basic lace. If you do not know how to do this you may need to reference a knitting book or online tutorial.
