Excuses
Notes for larger bust/cup sizing and different ease options are on my blog here:

from the designer: “Let’s be honest. We’ve all bought a couple of skeins of beautiful novelty yarn, and if you are one of the few who hasn’t, you were probably held back only by not being sure what you would do with it once you brought it home. I love the look of many novelty yarns, but have had difficulty finding designs that incorporate them into styles I want to wear. My favorite is Louisa Harding’s Sari Ribbon, a wide ribbon that comes in many colors with gold or silver metallic in the center. I have it in several colors, and in the right light, the fire is stunning. So I designed this sweater to show off the ribbon to its best, with some flowing free in the back so the unknitted beauty of the ribbon can be seen.
“This sweater is very close fitting, with approximately 3” of negative ease. Do not be afraid of the negative ease. All knits, especially those at hand-knit gauges, stretch quite nicely. If you want no negative ease, simply go up to the next size as the sizes are also done in 3” bust increments.”

Notes
“This sweater is worked from the top down flat until the ribbon band below the bust, then worked in the round. The sleeves are picked up after the body and worked in the round on double pointed needles.
“Take advantage of the fact that it is a top-down raglan and try the top on often. People of the same bust size come in different heights, so after trying it on you may find you want to increase more or less rapidly than dictated for your size.”
