Skill level: an adventurous beginner
I recommend learning how to make standing stitches and invisible joins. Start the round with a new colour with a standing stitch. Use an invisible join when you change colour in the next round.
This pattern includes a chart next to written instructions. Start each round at the number of the round. Follow the round from right to left.
There are two chart options for a middle piece of the mandala - Option 1 or 2 for an open or dense middle piece (R1 – R9).
Choose the version of your mandala - Option 3 or 4 to achieve a different look for R10 and R11.
Continue from R12 with the written instructions for all options. Use the chart and the photo tutorial next to the written instructions for reference.
Block your mandala. This will make the mandala more beautiful.
Abbreviations (US terms): sl st-slip stitch, ch(s)-chain(s), sc-single crochet, hdc-half double crochet, dc-double crochet, tr-treble crochet.
Project idea:
Make a wall-hanging decoration or a dreamcatcher. Hang the mandala on a piece of driftwood, make tassels and hang some wooden beads for decoration. Use materials of your choice to decorate; ribbon or strips of fabric, crochet feathers, beads, bells, shells etc. That is absolutely up to you. Let your creativity flow and give your own finishing touch to your wall hanging, using decorations you like, make whatever your heart desires!
