DESCRIPTION
The Every Which Way Beanie is the ultimate stash buster. Make it in any yarn weight your heart desires – the texture will look beautiful either way.
The pattern works up quickly, featuring your new favorite stitch: the linked double crochet. This modified stitch is a fun spin on the regular double crochet, and you will be surprised by how easy, fast, and beautifully textured it is!
In order to make this pattern work for any yarn weight, there is no fixed gauge provided. You are instructed to use any yarn weight and a suitable hook size - the pattern guides you through picking an appropriate hook size.
Stitch counts are not provided at the end of each round. Rather, the pattern guides you to crochet until you reach a certain amount of inches/cm corresponding to your size. I call this a “graded to measure” pattern, and it’s what allows you to use any yarn weight to make this beanie.
Like all CrochetHighway designs, this upper beginner pattern has you covered with step-by-step instructions, tutorial photos and videos for the trickier parts of the pattern. You’ll be whipping up this beanie on repeat!
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Beanie circumference: 16.5 (17.5, 19, 20) (21, 22, 23) inches or 42 (44, 48, 51) (53, 56, 58) cm
The pattern is written for 7 sizes as follows: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7), corresponding to Toddler, Child/Adult XXS, Tween/Adult XS, Teen/Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large, Adult Extra Large. This beanie is designed to be worn with approx. 1 to 2 inches or 2 to 5 cm of negative ease at the ribbed brim.
