Hi Folks!

Thanks for checking out the Evergreen cowl! This nature-themed, texture-driven cowl is a fun knit composed of reverse stockinette, cabled, and slipped stitches to create the image of a regal evergreen tree. As you knit, increases performed along the stem of the tree are cabled over the existing stitches. By varying the length of these cables over many rows, the shape of the tree emerges. Knit in the round, this cowl knits up fairly fast and is a perfect opportunity to show off some gorgeous tonal yarn.

Note: The way this cowl is knit can make it difficult to fix mistakes that are 2 or more rows back without having to rip out entire rows. If you are wary about making mistakes and having to rip out rows, this pattern might not be for you.

Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Reach out! I’ll do my best to respond back as quickly as I can. If I don’t get back to you right away, please forgive me! I probably have my nose buried in a book for grad school.

I’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to Deborah from Yarn Indulgences for providing the yarn that inspired this design. Your Indulgent Grand Style skeins are a dream to work with, and the Steel Teal colorway is phenomenal. I can’t wait to work with it again someday!

Special shout out to Evergreen’s test knitter, Darren (DarrenKC14)! Thank you so much for taking the time to knit this cowl! Take a look at his interpretation of Evergreen on his project page.
