Ever After Sweater
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $15.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $13.50 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $12.00 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $10.50 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
The Ever After Sweater is a cute cropped, oversized pullover. It has a crew style neckline with a picked up collar, and is worked top down (flat for the armhole shaping, then in the round for the remainder of the body and sleeves) with a sloped drop shoulder construction. The collar, cuffs and bottom edge have a 2x2 ribbed hem. The sweater is designed to fall to a slightly cropped level. The pattern is intended to be a boxy fit, but has options for waist shaping if desired, as well as adding extra length as needed for the body and sleeves. This is a size inclusive design, written for 11 sizes (34-74 inch / 85-185 cm finished bust, in 4 inch / 10 cm increments) and designed for 6-10 inches / 15-25 cm of positive ease.

Sizes offered:
34 (38, 42, 46)(50, 54, 58){62, 66, 70, 74} inches / 85 (95, 105, 115)(125, 135, 145){155, 165, 175, 185} cm
To fit actual bust of:
24-28 (28-32, 32-36, 36-40)(40-44, 44-48, 48-52){52-56, 56-60, 60-64, 64-68} inches / 60-70 (70-80, 80-90, 90-100)(100-110, 110-120, 120-130){130-140, 140-150, 150-160, 160-170} cm
Size 74 is untested. If you would like to knit this size and provide feedback, I would be happy to refund your pattern purchase.
Note: The sizes reflect the FINISHED bust measurements in inches / cm of the sweater, and listed below the sizes you can see the recommended actual bust range for each size. The sweater is designed for 6-10 inches / 15-25 cm of positive ease. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your bust and add 6-10 inches / 15-25 cm to find the closest size. If you are in between sizes, size down for a snugger fit, or up for a looser fit. My sample is knit with 10 inches / 25 cm of positive ease (size 46 on a 36 inch / 90 cm bust and 30 inch / 75 cm waist).
Note: If you are fairly busty, you may want to use a lower positive ease, or knit a size based on your upper bust measurement rather than your full bust measurement, this will help prevent the sweater being too loose around the rest of your torso.
Needles recommended:
5 mm / US 8 / UK 6 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - main body
4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - ribbing
- Cord length to match your bust measurement as well as 9-16 inch / 22.5-40 cm cord for the sleeves (or DPNs or 32-40 inch / 80-100 cm cord for the magic loop method).
Gauge (blocked):
Using 5 mm / US 8 / UK 6 (body) needles and working in stockinette
I recommend swatching both in the round and flat, as parts of the sweater are knit flat before joining in the round. If your flat gauge is significantly different than your round gauge, you can adjust needle size for the flat portion.
4 x 4 inch / 10 x 10 cm = 18 sts x 26 rows/rounds
Yarn recommended:
Any worsted (4) weight yarn that you can match gauge with.
Sample yarn - Treehouse Knits Redwood Worsted (218 yds / 199 m per 100g) in the colourway Just Breathe.
Yardage Recommended:
Recommended length - inches:
18 (18.5, 18.5, 19){19.5, 20, 20.5}(20.5, 20.75, 21.5, 22.5)
Estimated yardage:
750 (810, 885, 975){1070, 1200, 1285}(1375, 1480, 1600, 1750)
Additional yardage per inch of body:
25 (29, 31, 34){37, 40, 43}(46, 49, 52, 55)
Recommended length - cm:
45 (46.5, 46.5, 47.5){49, 50, 51.5}(51.5, 52, 54, 56.5)
Estimated meters:
685 (740, 809, 891){978, 1097, 1175}(1257, 1353, 1463, 1600)
Additional meters per inch of body:
23 (27, 29, 31){34, 37, 40}(42, 45, 48, 51)
Yardage is an approximation based on math and tester averages, and is calculated using the recommended length and no waist shaping. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any length modifications, especially if you know you have a long torso or prefer a longer sweater/sleeves.
