Ethel is one of three shrugs in a set, using the same basic shape but worked with a different type of knitting stitch. These shrugs are perfect to pop over your shoulders when you are watching TV, relaxing on the sofa, or to cover up a little when sitting outside. The super chunky wool will keep you warm, even on the chilliest of evenings!

They are mainly knitted in a rectangle, from the bottom up. There is a little shaping at the back of the neck using short rows. The arm holes are made at the end by folding the edges together and sewing them up just part of the way. As it uses super chunky weight yarn the shrug will knit up quickly. Perfect if you want to whip up a quick gift for a loved one! The Ethel shrug is knitted using garter stitch so it is very easy for new knitters to give a go. It uses between 700g and 800g of super chunky weight yarn depending upon whether you choose to knit the small, medium or large size.
