Estela Cowl
‘Estela’ is Spanish for a ‘wake,’ a trail left in the water after a boat has passed. That is where I got the inspiration for this cowl. Scroll lace and cables provide motion reminiscent of flowing water after it has been disturbed by a passing vessel. Slipped stitches provide texture like seafoam, or rocks along the beach. The pattern has a fun flow to it, and after a few rounds, it will be smooth sailing as the knitter gets into the rhythm of the each section.
This cowl is meant to be a one-skein project. Hopefully it will make a nice gift for the holidays. A great way to bust some DK stash!
Edit: I initally described the pattern for DK/Worsted because the yarn I used works up closely to Worsted on US 7 Needles. I didn’t consider that there might be larger gauge variations. I have updated the description for just DK and will update the pattern or release a worsted version at some point in the future. I apologize for the mix up.
