ESPALIER is a high-neck sweater, knitted top-down with a round yoke. The pattern is stockinette stitch worked in panels getting wider and wider, and interrupted by horizontal lines - extra yarn is added in stripes at random places. The collar is gathered with a tie, so you can choose whether the neck should be open or closed. You can knit a short model with a double knitted edge, or a long model, finished with ribbing and slits. A simple sweater - and completely seamless.

MEDIUM eco wool from www.hyggestrik.dk or similar sport weight wool: 191 yd (175 m)/50 g + Silk-mohair: 230 yd (210 m)/25 g.

Wool for a long model: 400 / 450 / 450 / 500 / 550 / 600 g
Wool for a shorter model: 350 / 350 / 400 / 450 / 500 / 550 g
Silk-mohair: 25 / 25 / 25 / 25 / 25 / 25 g

Needles
16 & 32” (40 & 80 cm) circular needles size US 4 & 6 (3.5 & 4 mm)
1 set of double pointed needles size US 4 (3.5 mm)
Stitch markers

Gauge
Before wash: 21 sts & 30 rows in stockinette stitch with needle size US 6 (4 mm) = 4” (10 cm)
After wash and blocking: 20 sts & 30 rows = 4” (10 cm)
