Esmeralda's Jaunty Beret
This is quite an untraditional beret-- but it’s untraditional in a very welcome way. The design works unusually well with a variegated yarn, and those who are squiffy about fair isle (especially two-handed and more involved variations) can relax and not even worry about wielding a cable needle here (the cables are all formed with psso’s). This design has a very pleasing asymmetry, with its seven spokes each of st st and the cable triads; nice to see such a modern reworking of such a very ancient tradition.
