Escalier Cardigan
This pattern is now available on Ravelry!
This relaxed cardigan is worked in an all-over textured pattern that’s fun to work and easy to follow. Set-in sleeves, subtle waist shaping, and a graceful V-neck create a flattering fit. The body of the sweater is worked first in one piece, then the sleeves are worked in the round and seamed into the armholes. The button band is picked up and worked after seaming. Seams are used only in the most important spots to provide longevity - the shoulders and armholes - creating a garment that will won’t stretch out, but doesn’t require too much finishing.
A pullover version of this pattern is also available.
