Erinn Fingerless Mitts & Cowl Set
This fingerless mitts and cowl set is a quick but luxurious way to greet cool spring mornings! Knit with just one skein of Madelinetosh Wren, the set features a simple eyelet pattern to show off the beautiful sheen of the yarn without sacrificing warmth. Instructions are included for two sizes of mitts and cowls.
Sizes
Mitts: small (shown, approximately 6 ¾“ long, fits ladies’ 7 - 7 ½” palm) or large (approximately 7 ½“ long, fits ladies’ 8 - 8 ½” palm);
Cowl: small (shown, approximately 17 ½“ circumference) or large (approximately 20” circumference), 8 ½” tall
Materials
Suggested yarn:
Mitts: 130 (160) yards of heavy fingering or light DK-weight yarn
Cowl: 165 (190) yards of heavy fingering or light DK-weight yarn
As Shown: Madelinetosh Wren (50% Merino wool, 50% silk; approximately 365 yards per 100 gram skein), Color Moorland; one skein
NB: Madelinetosh Pashmina would be a great substitute for the Wren!
Needles:
Mitts: Size US #3 double pointed needles (DPNs), or size required to obtain correct gauge
Cowl: Size US #6 circular needle (16”), or size required to obtain correct gauge
Notions:
stitch markers, waste yarn or a stitch holder, yarn needle
Gauge
Mitts: 6 stitches / 9 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
Cowl: 5.5 stitches / 8 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
