About the construction

This hat is worked from the bottom up, starting by a tubular Cast-on and a 1x1 simple rib. The body of the piece is worked by following a stranded colorwork motif until the crown. The crown is shaped by progressive decreases to then close living stitches and add a pompom.

DETAILS

Sizes: 1 (2, 3), equivalent to 50 (53, 58.5) cm of head circumference (finished measurements) with 0-3 cm of positive ease. Shown in size 2 in a head with with 53 cm of circumference and 0-2 cm of positive ease.

Gauge: 21.5 sts and 23 rows = 10 cm, measured over colorwork pattern, in the round, with larger needles, after blocking.

Yarn: A total of 160 (190, 250) mt of fingering weight yarn plus lace yarn (held together). It can be replaced by DK weight yarn.
C1 (soft coral): 15 (20, 30) mt of fingering weight yarn plus lace yarn (held together).
C2 (mint): 60 (70, 90) mt of fingering weight yarn plus lace yarn (held together).
C3 (black): 70 (80, 100) mt of fingering weight yarn plus lace yarn (held together).
C4 (deep coral): 15 (20, 30) mt of fingering weight yarn plus lace yarn (held together)..

Needles: 4.0 mm circular needles with a cable of 20 cm
3.5 mm circular needles with a cable of 20 cm
4.0 mm DPNs or circular needles with a cable of 50 - 80 cm or appropiate to work magic loop.

Notions: 1 stitch marker for BOR, 6 stitch markers for decreases, tapestry needle, pins and mats for blocking.

Sobre el diseño**

Este gorro se teje de abajo hacia arriba, comenzando por un montaje tubular y un punto elástico simple 1x1. El cuerpo de la pieza se trabaja siguiendo un motivo de jaquard hasta la corona. La corona se va moldeando mediante disminusiones progresivas para luego cerrar los puntos vivos y añadir un pompón.

Muestra: 21.5 p 2 23 vtas = 10 cm, medido sobre el motivo de colorwork, en redondo, con las agujas más grandes y post bloqueo.

Hilado: Un total de 160 (190, 250) mt de hilado grosor fingering e hilado grosor lace (sostenidos juntos). Puede reemplazarse por hilado grosor DK.
