Enchanted Forest Shawl
The Enchanted Forest Shawl is knit on the bias. It starts with a long tail cast-on and set-up row for increases and an icord edging. Each section is worked using the main color and contrast colors 1 - 5 with easy garter, fun slipped stitches, and some rhythmic brioche. The resulting fabric is thick, textured, and very squishy.
The yarn recommended is as follows:
Frog It Yarn Merino DK
MC - Enchanted Forest 231yds/100gr x2
CC1 - Tobacco Leaf 116yds/50gr
CC2 - Olive Tree 116 yds/50gr
CC3 - Abyss 116yds/50gr
CC4 - Blackberry 116yds/50gr
CC5 - Pressed Petals 116yds/50gr
Gauge is important in this project if you are using these yarns and/or substituting another DK, as you will be using almost all of each CC color. The gauge is 22 sts x 28 rows = 4” in a slipped stitch pattern.
This shawl starts small and grows quickly but is a relaxing and rhythmic knit. The pattern includes video links to techniques for brioche if it is new to you, as well as videos and step by step instructions for an icord bind off.
