A tailored jacket featuring Bavarian cable patterns and faux princess seaming. The edge finishing is elegantly simple, with hems and bound edgings with internal hooks and eyes (or a zipper, if you prefer). The small stand-up collar is worked as a shallow tube, using two circular needles and picking up stitches on the inside and outside of the garment. The instructions include options for working with or without a steek at the front opening, and options for full bust adjustments. The garment is worked seamlessly.

Bavarian cabling differs from the more familiar Aran cabling in that it uses single lines of twisted knit stitches and rather than being cabled on every second row, is at some points cabled on every row. The pattern is adapted from one in Gisela Klopper’s Beautiful Knitting Stitches.
