Elves Lights
The Elves’ Lights illuminate the dark Icelandic winter and are very decorative during the long summer days. They are knitted with Icelandic unspun lopi then fulled: lopi felts beautifully, shines, gives a warm light and is not flammable.
Note that the blue color stops the light so any color with some blue in it (including greens and purples) are not recommended for the flower itself but you can use them all in the leaves. Each flower/leave uses about 8 g (24m/26 yds). If you use another yarn, make sure it’s pure wool and felts easily (not superwash!).
After felting, flower is about 8 cm/3” diameter and leave 14 cm/5,5” across but of course you can play with yarn to obtain different sizes.
String light: make sure to use the correct electric appliance for your country.
