Elvenpath Plaid
This project can be used as a large shawl to wrap around your neck or for example as a plade on the backside of your bed. The project requires a advanced experience of knitting stitches. The pattern is made up out of pieces which you constantly repeat. The pattern only has a written version and there are no charts, this too keep it simple and easy for everyone. After finishing the project you have to wash it and clamp it. Then the real pattern will reveal its beauty. Enjoy making this wonderfull piece of art !
The project has 320 rows and 148 stitches. Sizes when finished are 140 x 70 cm. However, this is mine size with my yarn choice, you can also choose to make it shorter or longer.
Materials :
- Circular needle 4,5 mm with a length of 80 – 120 cm
- 450 grams of yarn ( 1980 yards ) that is useable for needlesize 3,0 mm – 5,5 mm . In the example Aade Long Artistic 8/2 is used. ( If your yarn is to thick, the pattern will shrimp and with clamping it would not give the effect you want, if this is your problem, take a larger needlesize )
- Materials for clamping up your project.
Gauge :
This is not important. Because it is a lace pattern you have gaps between stitches, your project will become larger and sizes will be different. Also your choiche in yarn is depending.
Pattern is updated in March 2015. There was a mistake in the amount of stitches to cast on and in Row 9.
27/11/13 errata - we discovered a little errata when our dear Raveler knit3hearts asked something about the cast on number of stitches. In the original pattern we wrote you had to cast on 146 stitches to begin. However, this must be 148 stitches. A changed pattern is uploaded, so if you buy this pattern after 27/11/13 you already have a right version.
