Ella the Forest Fairy was originally featured in Crochet Now Magazine in 2022.
This version of Ella has swapped a scarf for an adorable head of hair. Woodland inspired and using autumnal tones, Ella is a great seasonal make.

Ella is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Ella is approx. 21cm tall (8 1/4 inches).

You will need:

• 2.2mm hook/B-1 (US)
• 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in NUDE, BROWN, WHITE, BLACK, ORANGE and YELLOW
• 7mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
• When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
• Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. To make a larger toy you can use a thicker yarn and vice versa.
