The design:
Elizabethan Rose was designed on the day I woke to hear the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. I sat and watched the news unfold paying homage to Her Majesty in the only way I knew how. It starts with 7 stitches one for each decade of her reign and is repeatable to any size from doily to blanket
Materials needed:
Elizabethan Rose is designed for a 4ply gradient cake yarn of 1000m+ as it is a continuous design
I used Hobbii Sultan Deluxe in Regent Rose
Stitch marker
Wool/darning needle

Gauge: no gauge required
Recommended Hook size:
3-3.5 mm
Or hook appropriate for your chosen yarn weight

Stitch abbreviations:
(American Terms)
pm: Place marker
CL3dc: a cluster of 3 double crochet - see stitch tips
dc: Double crochet
sc: Single crochet
tr: Treble crochet
bl: Work the stitch in the back loop only e.g blsc
bp: Work the stitch back post only
ch: chain
skp: Skip stitch
sl st: Slip stitch
ch-sp: Chain space
