Elinor is a small triangular shawl. Its traditional geometric lace boarder is elegantly framing the soft stockinette stitch center. This shawlette is knit sideways in one piece and shaped using short rows.

It uses just under one skein of light fingering weight yarn and is still big enough to wrap around your neck generously. Perfect for showing off special skeins.

Suitable for intermediate knitters - you should be comfortable in knitting lace. You can find a photo-tutorial on the short rows technique on my blog here.

A chart and written instructions are included for the lace border.

Yarn: approx. 400m/437yds of light fingering to fingering yarn. Shown in Mondial Ciao, 420m/100g.

Needles: 3mm/US size 2.5 needles.

Notions: 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle to weave in ends and pins for blocking.

Gauge: 26 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10cm/4 x 4’’ in stockinette stitch.

Die Form des Dreiecks ist schmal und langgezogen, so dass es sich toll um die Hals drapieren lässt. Man strickt es quer von einem Ende zum anderen und hat so in jeder Reihe einen Teil glatt rechts und Borte. Aber das Beste ist, für das Tuch braucht man nur ungefähr 100g dünnes Sockengarn! Da der obere Rand glatt rechts gestrickt ist, rollt er sich nach innen und ist herrlich weich am Hals. Wer das Rollen vermeiden möchte, strickt einfach die äußeren 4 Maschen der oberen Kante einfach kraus rechts.

Nadeln: 3mm Stricknadeln

Garn: ca. 400m Strumpfgarn, 4-fädig

Zusätzlich: Stopfnadel zum Verstopfen der Enden, Stecknadeln zum Spannen, 1 Maschenmarkierer

Maschenprobe: 26 Maschen x 32 Reihen = 10 x 10cm glatt rechts
