I love cables, however I do not like that most patterns are not reversible. The hat and mitt are completely reversible with the cable pattern on both sides.

Both are worked from the bottom up using fpdc and bpdc stitches,

SIZE: Hat: 20 inches in circumference x 8 3/4 inches long. To fit average adult head
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
MATERIALS: DY Choice Aran with Wool (two skeins); Size G/6 (4.00mm) and I/9 (5.50mm) crochet hooks or size to get gauge; stitch marker (optional).

GAUGE: hat brim -12 sts = 4 inches, hat body – 16st = 4 inches.
