Ederlezi cardigan leaves plenty of room for your own creativity. Combine a main color and several contrasting colors. The number of used colors can easily be adjusted to personal preferences. As only a small quantity of yarn is required for each section, it´s perfect to use leftovers from other projects.

The cardigan is worked in rows back and forth seamlessly from the top down. After the round yoke is finished, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is worked down to the hem either straight or with an A-line. Then the sleeves are worked in rounds either in a light balloon shape or according to a classic sleeve cut (as for the cardigan on the photo). In both variants the sleeve cuffs are worked with a chart. Finally, the front bands are worked with or without buttonholes. The calculation of the correct position of the buttonholes is explained in this pattern. This allows to adapt the length of the cardigan to your personal preferences.

Any fingering weight yarn with approximately 437yds/400m/100g that gives you the proper gauge will work well.

Ederlezi ist eine Jacke, die der eigenen Kreativität viel Spielraum lässt. Es wird eine Hauptfarbe mit mehreren Kontrastfarben kombiniert. Die Anzahl der verwendeten Farben kann leicht den persönlichen Vorlieben angepasst werden. Da für die einzelnen Musterabschnitte jeweils nur eine geringe Garnmenge benötigt wird, können auch Wollreste genutzt werden.
Die Jacke wird nahtlos von oben nach unten gestrickt. Der hintere Halsausschnitt wird durch verkürzte Reihen angehoben. Nachdem die Rundpasse gestrickt wurde, werden die Ärmelmaschen stillgelegt und zunächst der Körper entweder gerade oder mit einer A-Linie fertig gestellt. Danach werden die Ärmel entweder in leichter Ballonform oder nach einem klassischen Ärmelschnitt (wie auf dem Foto) in Runden gestrickt. Bei beiden Varianten wird der Ärmelabschluss mit einem Muster gearbeitet. Zuletzt werden die vorderen Blenden mit oder ohne Knopflöcher kraus rechts gestrickt. Die Berechnung der richtigen Position der Knopflöcher ist in dieser Anleitung erklärt, so dass die Länge der Jacke beliebig variiert werden kann.
