A modern staple for layering, this oversize shell is a fresh alternative to the cardigan when you need extra warmth. Columns of cartridge rib keep the easy shape flattering with long vertical lines. The front and back, shaped with graceful sloping shoulders, are worked flat and sewn together. A cozy mock turtleneck finishes the shell, and its folded construction guards against the winter chill.
CONSTRUCTION
This garment is worked in pieces, flat from the bottom up. The pieces are then sewn together at the shoulders. The mock turtleneck collar is picked up and worked in the round, then folded toward the inside of the neck edge, and joined to the pick-up edge at the same time as it is bound off. The side seams are then sewn.
