With simple stitches that are easy to remember, my Easy Stash Yarn Shawl is perfect for those moments where you need a bit of calm and relaxation.

This is a written pattern for an easy garter stitch and eyelet knitted shawl.

You will need:
100g (400m) skein or ball of 4ply (sock) yarn.
OR 5 x 20g (80m) mini skeins (use each full skein, then join the next).
3.75mm (US 5) long circular knitting needles - 80cm or 100cm in length.
You will knit in rows on the circular needles; the cord is needed to hold the stitches.
Wool needle.

Finished size: Approximately 144cm across top edge x 26cm deep, after blocking.

Helpful notes and tips:
Skill level:
Easy, and suitable for adventurous beginners.

Techniques used:
Knit, purl, simple increases and decreases, starting with a garter stitch tab.

Yarn selection:
4ply (sock) yarn works well and gives good stitch definition and structure. But you can try any yarn fibre of the same thickness, and it will also work well with this design.

Knitting needles:
Larger sized needles are used with the 4ply yarn, to create a beautiful drape. Long circular needles are used to hold the larger numbers of stitches as the shawl grows.
