These unique mitts are worked in the round, back and forth, in the round, back and forth, and in the round again – making shaped mitts with thumb gussets without ever cutting your yarn. Designed to use up your leftovers if you knit Gusty using Noro Akari but fun with any worsted-weight yarn with long color runs.
Skills required
Working a small circumference in the round
Long-tail cast-on
Knitted cast-on
Increasing with kfb
Decreasing
Icelandic bind-off (instructions provided)
Measurements
Approximately 8” around the palm above the thumb and 7” long. Garter stitch is stretchy so these should fit most small/medium hands.
Materials
Approximately 125 yards of worsted-weight yarn – samples were knit in Noro Akari and Kureyon. Yarns with long color runs are the most fun!
US 6/4 mm needles or size needed to get gauge in your preferred configuration for working small circumferences
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
