Where I live, it gets cold. Really cold. Biting winds and Polar Vortex sort-of-cold. It’s not just need-a-hat cold, it’s need-two-hats cold. But the problem is that you look pretty silly with two hats on.

But there’s a much more stylish solution: a stranded colorwork hat. Stranded colorwork makes things much warmer, as the floats of the unused colors lie at the back of the fabric and form a lining.

This hat uses a classic Shetland stitch pattern to create an entirely modern look. Suitable for men and women, it’s sophisticated in neutrals, or fun and funky in brights.

Suitable for your first stranded colorwork project. As long as you’ve got experience working in the round and reading charts you’ll be good to go.
