Duckling is a soft, large parallelogram-shaped shawl. The lace pattern consisting of a 6 stitches / 6 rows repeat creates the shape. The soft selvedge enhances the structure of the unevenly spun alpaca yarn. As a contrast to the softness of selvedges and yarn, a chain of double crochet is worked along the CO and BO edges (I.e., the short edges) to give the shawl a clean-cut and luxurious finish.

Needles
Circular needle 7.0 mm (US 10.75), 60 cm/24” or 80 cm/32”.
Crochet hook 4.00 mm (US 6)

Gauge in lace pattern on 7.00 mm (US 10.75) needles: 12 sts X 12 rows = 10 x 10 cm /4 x 4”
Gauge is not crucial in shawls. But keep in mind that the required amount of yarn, as well as the size of the shawl, may change depending on your choices.
