This cozy funnel neck cowl is just right about your neck, sitting tall yet with the extra warmth of panels to tuck into a sweater or coat. And with two strands of yarn held together, the marling possibilities are so fun -- you’re sure to need more than one!
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
One size: 25” / 63.5 cm circumference at widest part of cowl neck by 23.5” / 59.5 cm tall
YARN
Two strands of fingering-weight yarn held together throughout:
Yarn A: 325 yds / 297 m
Yarn B: 325 yds /297 m
Samples shown in Plucky Knitter Pippi Fingering (95% superwash extra fine brushed merino, 5% nylon; 450 yds / 411 m per 100g): 1 skein each of two colors
Shown in colors Mitzi and Drift, and in colors Cloud 9 and Plaidscape
NEEDLES
Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
Gauge Needle: US 8 (5 mm) 16” / 40 cm and 24” / 60 cm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge
Smaller Needle: US 7 (4.5 mm) 24” / 60 cm circular needle, or one size smaller than Gauge Needle
Optional: Additional 24” / 60 cm Gauge Needle for working separate front and back panels once cowl is split.
GAUGE
17 sts and 22 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette st with yarns held together, blocked.
TOOLS
7 markers, including one unique for BOR, stitch holder or waste yarn (optional), and a tapestry needle.
NOTES
Cowl is worked from the top down. Begin in the round, then split into front and back panels worked in rows and separately.
