Drimys is a colourwork yoke sweater knitted from the top down. It starts with a high rounded collar worked in twisted rib, then shapes the back of the neck with short-rows.
The yoke increases before the sleeves and body separation, and the colourwork continues throughout the whole garment.
With its intuitive geometric motif, it’s an engaging knit which can easily accomodate a variety of colour numbers and choices, as there are three distinct symbols that break the design into smaller parts.

You will need three colours of fingering weight yarn in the following amounts :
MC : 500 (570 / 620 / 670), 830 (910 / 965 / 1015), 1110 (1210 / 1350 / 1400) meters
550 (625 / 680 / 735), 910 (995 / 1055 / 1110), 1215 (1325 / 1480 / 1535) yards
CC1 : 350 (380 / 420 / 450), 550 (620 / 770 / 870), 920 (1000 / 1150 / 1200) meters
385 (415 / 460 / 495), 605 (680 / 845 / 955), 1010 (1095 / 1260 / 1315) yards
CC2 : 50 (55 / 60 / 70), 80 (95 / 110 / 150), 180 (210 / 250 / 300) meters
55 (60 / 65 / 80), 90 (105 / 120 / 165), 200 (230 / 275 / 330) yards

The sample is knit with Ivy Fiber Co. Meadow in Sand (MC), Cinder (CC1) and Papaya (CC2).
Yarn was gifted for the design.

Needles :
Main Fabric : 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles with appropriate length to knit in the round and magic loop or DPNs.
Ribbing : 3 mm (US 2.5) circular needles with appropriate length to knit in the round and magic loop or DPNs.

Gauge :
24 sts x 26 rnds per 10 cm – 4” with larger needles in stranded knitting after blocking

Note : Row gauge is important for the yoke shaping, however you will be able to adjust it slightly. I recommended avoiding very smooth and drapey yarns that might create stitches too off length-wise.

Drimys est un pull à empiècement circulaire en jacquard tricoté de haut en bas. Il se commence par le col près du cou en côtes torses, puis on forme la nuque à l’aide de rangs raccourcis. Le yoke augmente avant la séparation des manches et du corps et le jacquard continue sur tout le pull.
Avec son motif géométrique intuitif, c’est un projet motivant qui peut facilement se tricoter avec différents choix et nombres de couleurs, puisqu’il y a trois symboles distincts qui divisent le dessin en plus petites sections.

Principales : aiguilles circulaires 3.5 mm avec la bonne longueur pour tricoter en rond et en Magic Loop ou prévoir des aiguilles double-pointes.
Côtes : aiguilles circulaires 3 mm avec la bonne longueur pour tricoter en rond.

Échantillon :
24 m. x 26 rgs sur 10 cm avec les aiguilles principales en jacquard en rond après blocage

Note : L’échantillon en rangs est important pour le yoke, cependant vous pourrez ajuster légèrement la hauteur. Je recommande d’éviter les fils très lisses avec beaucoup de drapé qui peuvent créer des mailles trop longues.
