Dragonfly Snowflake
“Dragonfly Snowflake” is a crochet pattern to make a large snowflake applique. This snowflake pattern is inspired by a real snowflake. I saw a picture of a magnified snowflake and decided to convert this beauty of nature into a similar looking crochet pattern.
When I made it, the snowflake points looked almost like dragonflies. So I decided to dedicate this snowflake pattern to this lovely creature which incidentally is also one of my animal totems.
Skill Level:
Easy
Materials:
Suggested Yarns:
I used a size 10 weight thread and size 1.75mm crochet steel hook to make these earrings. I used approximately 14-15 yards of “Designs By Mamta Sparkle” thread which is an embroidery floss weight thread.
I Used:
Designs By Mamta Sparkle(97% Metallic Polyester, 3% Nylon / Polyamide; 10 yds/9m; CYCA # 0): #Mint, 2 skeins.
Crochet Hook Size:
1.75 mm/ US 00 size crochet steel hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions:
Scissors
White glue/ Mod Podge
Stitch Markers
Gauge:
Gauge is not important for this applique. You can make it big or small using a different yarn and hook.
With the thread I used, the gauge was:
7 sc x 7 rows = 1” (2.54 cm) with 1.75mm(US 00) size crochet hook.
