Dragon Scale Shawl draws its inspiration from the sharp, angular scales of a mythical creature, translating bold geometry into a striking, wearable fabric. Worked from one end with gradual increases to the center, the shawl then shifts dramatically from light to dark as decreases carry the fabric toward the opposite tip. This deliberate play between light and shadow, anchored by a decisive color change at the center, creates a sense of movement and unmistakable visual drama.

The design is fully customizable: work as many pattern repeats as you like to create anything from a compact kerchief to a long scarf or a generously sized statement shawl. Mosaic knitting keeps the process approachable, with only one color worked at a time, allowing the complex-looking texture to emerge with ease.

To set you up for success, the first 16 rows are written out in full, easing the transition before continuing on with charts only. The result is a bold yet meditative knit that rewards both your attention and your imagination.
