Dragon Scales Shawl
This pretty shawl features a pattern that evokes the scales on a dragon’s back.
The shawl is worked from the top down. It uses the shoulder-shaping and centre back panel characteristic of shawls of the Faroe Islands. The all-over pattern is worked alternating between stocking stitch and Fishermen’s Rib (brioche).
Size and measurements
Approximately 194 cm (76.25”) wingspan, 88 cm (34.5”) height. The centre panel is approximately 17 cm (6.75”) wide.

6 skeins of worsted weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 185 m (202 yds) per 100 g
Used in the sample: Juniper Moon Farm Bluefaced Leicester in colourway Dijon
4mm / US size 5.5 circular needle, 100 cm (40”) long
The shawl is worked flat; a circular needles is recommended to accommodate the large number of stitches

18 sts x 23 rows = 10 cm/4” measured over pattern
