Every Dragon Hunter needs a trusty hat. Whether one is seeking to battle or befriend the mighty beasts, hunting dragons usually involves nights spent in dark forests or clambering up cold, windy mountainsides. This hat offers protection against those eerie midnight chills. (If you can make it out of non flammable wool, so much the better - legend has it that dragon breath is strong enough to curl hair at 50 paces..)

The hat is worked flat and sideways like a scarf, then joined and seamed across the top to form either 2 horns or at the sides, or a neat tricornate peak.

The pattern includes 3 sizes, however the sideways construction and garter stitch body make this an extremely stretchy hat.

Sample was knit with sock yarn held double (yardage given is for total amount needed) on 4mm (US 6) needles. DK weight can be substituted, but please check gauge if doing so.

Special thanks to sandra8981 for being the driving force behind this hat. :)
