Within this striking medieval cape lurks a hidden dragon, visible only at an angle. Illusion knitting, or shadow knitting, is surprisingly easy to do. The entire piece is worked in a combination of stockinette and garter stitches. The chart is different from regular knitting and special instructions for working the chart are listed. There are no armholes and the front is secured with a clasp.
Body of cape is worked sideways from right to left with Dragon Chart worked in the middle. Piece is then turned on its side and stitches are picked up along the top of the cape then the neckline is worked from the cape upwards.
