Dovana
This pattern is also available as part of Knitworthy. For more information click here.
A top down, shallow triangular shawl with centre increases worked into a simple cable and twisted rib panel. The cable pattern fans out to become the beginning of a lace edging that blocks into attractive points. The top edge is bordered with knit one, purl one rib and the increases are worked as mirrored make ones for a clean look. Stitch counts are included for every row and the charted stitch patterns are intuitive to follow and easy to use markers with. Dovana uses a single skein of fingering weight yarn, perfect for something special you’ve been hanging on to like this gorgeous mushroom dyed gold from A Verb for Keeping Warm — solid or semi-solids will show the stitch patterns best.
The stitch patterns in Dovana are only charted. I went back and forth on including written directions and I know some people do prefer them but I find that the most frequent struggles with patterns like this are when people get lost in the written directions — the charts here really do show how things line up and make it easier to read your knitting and see whether any thing has gotten out of sync.
