I’m imagining the Douro river and the riverbanks, and how the water is flowing down from the mountains. I can’t wait to see it for real, feel the paths underneath my feet!

Douro Shawl is a bias shawl, worked in three colors and wavy lace. This shawl is designed for Maria G Knits retreat in Douro region, Portugal, October 2023.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Solo by Fios Da Fazenda and 2 skeins of Merino Fingering 4ply by Fios Da Fazenda. Approx. 1200 yds (830 m) of fingering weight yarn total.

• 1 skein of Color 1, shown in AU50 (brown); approx. 420 yds (380 m).
• 1 skein of Color 2, shown in AM87 (beige); approx. 380 yds (350 m).
• 1 skein of Color 3, shown in AP07 (pink); approx. 380 yds (350 m).

Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles, 32” (80 cm) long or longer.
