Double Refraction is an elongated, triangular, striped garter stitch shawl. Knit (and purled!) entirely in garter stitch. the relaxed gauge makes it light in weight with gorgeous drape. Knit in one piece and in three sections, Double Refraction is interesting to knit and is a showcase for hand-dyed yarns. The striped color pattern sets off the shaping which is accomplished with yarn overs and short rows. The model is knit with a DK/sport weight yarn and uses approximately 400 yards of Cheryl Oberle Designs Dancing Colors and 400 yards of a sport weight black. Model was knit with Dancing Colors Azurine.
